Mickey
and
Madelaine
The Beginning
 It
was cold in the cage that day. The small puppy mother was scared
and cold but she knew what was going to happen. She was afraid.
She had a pain in her tummy, like many times before. She didn’t
like it. She was really scared. She lied in her little caged bed
filled will dust and dirt. She was hoping for something wonderful
to happen this time.
After hours
of waiting, finally two beautiful puppies came from her and she
was so happy. She sniffed out the larger one and found it was
perfectly beautiful and healthy. She felt so proud. It was a beautiful
strong girl. Then she sniffed out the smaller one. She wasn’t
sure about this one. He was very small and not so healthy.
OK, here I
come to check on you! You better have had that litter by now!
Oh my!! Here comes that angry Master. Quickly, let’s hide
the little one. That little girl quickly squeezed the little soft
pudgy boy into Mommy. The new puppy cuddled against her littler
brother and her mother so he couldn’t be seen.
What! Only
one off spring! You are not good for anything! What is with you
anyway! I am going to sell this puppy as soon as possible. Barn
Hand!... get rid of this useless pup as soon as possible. Sell
it to the pet store right away!
Six weeks,
two weeks earlier than puppies should leave their mother, the
scared little female pup was sold to a pet store. She was shaking
so much even her teeth chattered. The only thing that made her
feel safe was that she had her little brother beside her. The
barn hand had tucked him into the cage to get rid of them both
at the same time as not to upset the Master.
Now, so grateful
to be away from the Master the little dogs sat shaking in a strange
new place. They were not sure what was going to happen now. They
really missed their mommy.
Being strong
both little puppies sat looking out the window at all the people
walking by. They smiled and barked happily. Can you see me? Do
you want to play with me? They did not getting any attention.
They were
really getting hungry now. They were sad that maybe nothing good
was going to happen to them. They sat in the window that night
and wished at the stars that someone would love them and come
and take care of them.
A couple days
came and went and they were getting to be more and more hungry.
Both had less energy. They could not smile and play so brightly
in the window. The little girl and tiny boy were getting scared.
What to do now?
That night
they looked at the stars and saw a much brighter star than they
had ever seen before. Bow,WoW , they said loudly to celebrate
that maybe this was the star they had been waiting for. They quickly
put their front paws together and prayed on that star for an angel...........
And
she came.
The puppies
were quickly picked up by this beautiful Angel and taken to the
vet to be all fixed up with food and shots. Most importantly,
the little girl was spayed and the tiny boy was neutered.
The smaller
male barely made it through alive because of his tough start.
The Angel hired a babysitter to sit with them during the day to
ensure they were safe. The Angel loved them and named them Aja
and Levi.
The Angel
was so happy as she knew that the puppies were safe however she
was concerned because they did not have the loving family that
they deserved.
The Angel
was so busy working that she could not spend the time with the
puppies that they needed. The Angel knew that they should be with
people who could give them more love and affection every day.
These little ones needed lots of hugs and kisses and would enjoy
meeting other people and dogs. They are so special they needed
to be treated very special.
The Angel
sent a plea to her family, friends and colleagues. “Please,
do you know anyone that you trust and love that would give a great
home to these little puppies?” After many months, a colleague
agreed to introduce her to a friend and interview her for the
position of a new puppy mother. After a long conversation the
Angel new she had found the right person to look after the little
puppies.
The puppies,
now named Mickey and Madelaine are so loved. Their new parents
are so grateful for them as they are for us. We love the babies!
OK, you should
know that the Angel legally shut down the pet store.
 She
also gave the puppies along with all their belongings including
a kennel, puppy bag, cases of food and treats to their new parents.
She really is an Angel of Love. She is an Angel in our hearts
forever.
Puppy mills
still exist today and we don’t know what happened to Mickey
and Madelaine’s mother.
Now Mickey
and Madelaine enjoy playing outside, chasing ball and sleep in
a great big bed with their parents.
They
are so loved.
