The Mickey
and Madelaine Purple Paw Foundation was inspired by Oprah’s “Investigating
Puppy Mills” show with Lisa Ling that aired in the spring of
2008. A person who commits a crime to an animal is much more likely
to abuse, mentally and or physically, a child, a woman or another
man. Let’s stop the violence when and where it starts. Abuse
to an animal by a person may be their cry for help. Let’s change
the animal cruelty laws to enforce stronger sentences for abusers,
decrease abuse in animals, and create a kinder world. Will you support

Sonja is the founder of www.mickeyandmadelaine.com
and the Purple
Paw Foundation. She was raised in the rural town of Williams
Lake, BC, on a hobby farm with many animals. She rescued Brandon,
her first city baby with fur, from the BC SPCA. Mickey and Madelaine
now live with Sonja and her husband Garry in Vancouver, Canada. Sonja
has a B.Sc. in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University and has been
Pharmaceutical Specialty Representative for many years. She is currently
promoting www.mickeyandmadelaine.com
and the Purple
Paw Foundation.
Oprah
has been her mentor and friend for 22 years, although she has never
met her. After reading Eckhart Tolle’s book, A New Earth, Sonja
has been in the process of awakening to live with joy and passion
in the now.
